Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Saud Satty also attended the meeting. The Saudi and Dutch foreign ministers have met several times over the years, most recently on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany on February 18.

On May 31, Prince Faisal and Hoekstra spoke by telephone to discuss international efforts to salvage the oil tanker FSO Safe, which is anchored 4.8 nautical miles off the coast of Yemen’s Hodeida province in deteriorating conditions that could lead to a massive tsunami, oil spill or explosion.
