Dust will fall off in natural state, and it will disperse when soaked with alcohol. At the same time, due to a large amount of adhesive, the conductivity, heat conduction and lubrication of the graphite rod will be greatly reduced, The reason is very simple. Graphite is a conductive material and adhesive is an insulating material, which is bound to greatly reduce the conductivity of graphite rod. The standard name for this graphite carbon rod is carbon arc air gouging carbon rod. It is used for cutting in foundry. The surface needs to be plated with a layer of copper to prevent moisture and conduct electricity. Therefore, this kind of carbon rod also has a feature that the diameter will be less than 0.1-0.2mm marked, because the surface will just reach the marked diameter when it is plated with 10% metal.
     Although the second method is also made of graphite powder and adhesive, there is great emphasis on its process. Firstly, graphite powder and adhesive are used to make large graphite materials under high pressure, and then impregnated by high-temperature roasting (evaporation and volatilization of adhesive). In this way, there is almost no adhesive in graphite after repeated impregnation roasting. This impregnation roasting process is very key. The reduced graphite after impregnation roasting has the characteristics of graphite itself and has all the functions and characteristics of graphite. Because such graphite has higher purity, it is also called high-purity graphite, and the made graphite rod is also called high-purity graphite rod.
